Additions to Homes - Log and Non-Log...
We started with a Standard Hawk Island...
And added this addition that became their great room. It also became added space in the basement for the workout room they always wanted.
But with a view like this - it was not hard to see why these folks were eager to see their home finished.
And with taste like this, it's no wonder why the family and friends flock to this home. The room beckons you to sit down and enjoy the peace, the view that
is only the thickness of glass away!
And with the crackle of the fire,
it's the perfect place to unwind from
hectic schedules that keep us running
from Monday to Friday.
The loft offers a totally different perspective to this very open space.
And with private access from the Master Suite, it's a unique place to enjoy
in many ways.
Winter or Summer - This home is the focus of their lives.
Their perfect get-away...
This summer retreat was soon to become the main home for some retirees in the area.
They came to me with their own sketches, and we provided them with the final plans and materials to make their Great Room a reality.
Rather than notch & pass corners, this owner prefered to use a post for the corners and bring the logs directly to the post. This was the easiest way for him to transition the older part of the house with this new, log addition.
Another major addition was this rocking-chair porch, a must-have on those rainy days when you really don't want to be inside.
This has become one of the best "rooms" of the house!
The "bay" window at the end of the house is actually fully built out, so the owners have full use of the area, floor to ceiling.
Months later, the owners are placing log siding on the old sections of the
original home. When they are done, it will be tough to know it is not all originally log.
And it did not take them long to make this home settle-in with its' own shrubs
and flowers. It almost looks like it's always been there!
